Built for crewed and uncrewed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, the LAISR solution was designed to meet specific government requirements for highly reliable, high-speed beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) connectivity available worldwide.
LAISR provides users with access to speeds up to 3 Mbps (forward and return) delivered through low size, weight and power (SWaP) user terminals starting at 4.7 lbs.
LAISR operates with waveforms tailored for customers’ unique requirements. It offers uniform high-speed throughput ISR capabilities throughout the complete coverage area of the L-band network network. All traffic passes through our Satellite Access Stations (SAS) and is backhauled via our secure Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network to the customer’s specific destination – ground control stations, operation centers, cloud-based services or remote terminals worldwide – via private terrestrial line connections, the public Internet or SATCOM. LAISR solutions are managed 24/7 by our U.S.-based, security-cleared operations and engineering teams, who are focused exclusively on our government customers.
The LAISR service is a global L-band mobility subscription service tailored for unique applications that provide multi-megabit data rates via our L-band continuous and consistent all-weather resilient worldwide network.
Our latest service innovation, Enhanced LAISR, delivers highly available, flexible and secure LAISR on-demand capability. It offers government users the communication flexibility their missions require. Customers will use the Enhanced L-band Maritime Antenna (ELMA) and LAISR-COTM (comms-on-the-move) terminal to connect to Enhanced LAISR. Additional terminals are in development to provide access to the Enhanced LAISR service and deliver reliable, high-speed, seamless connectivity and uniform global capabilities via a further reduced SWaP form factor.
LAISR is accessible via low-profile, small form-factor LAISR lightweight (LW) and ultra-lightweight (ULW) and LAISR user terminals, which are optimized for SWaP-constrained platforms. Starting at 4.7 lbs., LAISR terminals are comprised of a common Core Module (CM) and an antenna. Multiple antenna options, which vary both in size and performance, are offered, allowing customers the flexibility to customize the solution to meet their unique requirements.
LAISR delivers access to high availability, high performance, full duplex, secure beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) communications. It provides customers with high data rate throughput, while further reducing the total terminal SWaP. Featuring an integrated antenna self-steering capability, ULW does not require external navigation data from the host platform and can operate in GPS denied environments.
The LAISR service is offered via flexible service plans that allow users to deploy and operate worldwide multiple user terminals to share capacity or offer globally portable leases that can be rapidly stood up or relocated.
