ViaSat does not accept or consider unsolicited ideas, including but not limited to ideas for new or improved products/services, trademarks or trade names, and advertising campaigns. The purpose of this policy is to avoid potential misunderstandings if ViaSat later develops products, services, trademarks, advertising materials, etc. that may appear similar to ideas submitted to ViaSat.
In the event that you choose to submit an idea to ViaSat in spite of the above policy, you agree to be bound by the following terms, regardless of what your submission may state:
- You agree that your submission becomes the exclusive property of ViaSat without compensation to you.
- You agree that ViaSat may, in ViaSat’s sole discretion, use your submission for any purpose in any way.
- You agree that ViaSat has no obligation to maintain your submission in confidence.
Information. You Provide to Us. Generally, you may browse through the Sites without giving us any personal information about yourself. When you request information about our products, services, or events, you may voluntarily provide us with contact information, including your name, phone number and/or email address (“Information”). We use the Information that you provide to respond to your information requests regarding our products and services.
Information You Post. Any comments or information that you post on social media Sites may be viewable by other users, as well as visitors to our Sites, and becomes public information. If you post content on these Sites, we may collect and use that information. ViaSat is not responsible for the privacy of any information that you choose to post on these Sites or for the accuracy of any information contained in those postings.
How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals. Our cookies and other analytics technologies do not collect personal information and we do not combine the general information collected through cookies with other personal information to us to tell us who you are. You may adjust your browser or operating system settings to limit this tracking or to decline cookies, but by doing so, you may not be able to use certain features on the Sites or take full advantage of all of our offerings. Check the “Help” menu of your browser or operating system to learn how to adjust your tracking settings or cookie preferences. Note that our system does not recognize Do Not Track (DNT) headers from browsers. However, we only use your Information as described in this Policy.
ViaSat may disclose the information we collect from and about you as follows: (1) to our agents, if the disclosure will enable them to perform a business, professional or technical support function for us; (2) to respond to judicial process or provide information to law enforcement or regulatory agencies or in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety, as permitted by law, or otherwise as required by law; or (3) as otherwise described to you at the point of collection.
We may share aggregate or anonymous non-personal information with third parties to perform functions related to the Sites.
Also, ViaSat may sell or purchase assets during the normal course of our business. If another entity acquires us or any of our assets, information we have collected about you may be transferred to such entity. In addition, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, then such information may be considered an asset of ours and may be sold or transferred to third parties.
Your information is stored on servers in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please note that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our Sites, you consent to the transfer to and processing of your information in the United States, which may not have data protection laws that provide the same level of protection that exists in countries in the European Economic Area.
ViaSat has taken certain physical, administrative, and technical steps to safeguard the Information we collect from and about our Site visitors. While we seek to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee the security of the Information. We encourage you to take precautions to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet.
The Sites may contain links to other third party websites. Any access to and use of such linked websites is not governed by this Policy, but instead is governed by the privacy policies of those third party websites, even though some of these other sites may be co-branded with us and may look like Site features. We are not responsible for the information practices of such third party websites.
ViaSat does not currently disclose any Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
Protecting children’s privacy is important to us. We do not direct the Sites to, nor do we knowingly collect any personal information from, children under the age of thirteen.
ViaSat may amend this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the change(s) on the Sites. If we make any material changes in the way we use or disclose the Information you provide to us, we will provide appropriate notice to you.
