EMPOWERING SERVICE INTEGRATORS WITH COST-EFFECTIVE SPECTRUM AND GROUND STATION ACCESS.

RBC Signals excels in secure space communications, specializing in Fractional & Dynamic Spectrum Leasing, and Ground Stations as a Service (GSaaS). With cost-effective spectrum leasing solutions and a comprehensive network of antenna systems across all major frequency bands, they aim to enable Service Integrators to deploy private Industrial IoT (IIoT) Networks.

RBC Signals solution

Partner story

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Redmond, Washington, USA, RBC Signals specializes in Fractional & Dynamic Spectrum Leasing and Ground Stations as a Service (GSaaS). The company empowers satellite service integrators to deliver tailored connectivity solutions for private IIoT networks.

Deploying private IIoT networks over satellite can be a significant investment, especially due to the high costs of leasing 3GPP-approved spectrum. Many service integrators opt for reselling Managed Services from satellite operators, but this can limit flexibility and customization, often locking them into specific equipment, fixed service level agreements (SLAs), and preset data packages.

In some countries, government regulations may even prohibit Managed Services if the gateway (teleport) is not in-country, making a private network with a sovereign in-country gateway the only viable solution.

To address these challenges, RBC Signals developed Spectrum Trade Orchestration and Resource Management (STORM), a proprietary spectrum access platform. In partnership with Viasat, STORM provides cost-effective access to 3GPP-approved spectrum, enhancing flexibility for building Private IIoT networks.

RBC Signals' Fractional Channel Subleasing and Dynamic Spectrum Leasing solutions on 3GPP spectrum enable service integrators to access the right spectrum at the right time, and deploy private IIoT networks across key industries such as agriculture, energy, utilities, environment, mining, transport, and maritime.

With an extensive network of over 80 antennas in more than 60 locations, RBC Signals streamlines spectrum and ground station management. This capability helps service integrators offer reliable connectivity, including narrowband (NB-IoT), more efficiently, potentially accelerating market entry and reducing upfront investment.

User scenarios

  • Who You Are: An IIoT Service Integrator aiming to deploy custom private networks over satellite with cost-effective access to 3GPP spectrum.
  • What You Have: An IIoT application in any sector, including agriculture, energy, utilities, environment, mining, maritime or transport.
  • What You Need: A private IIoT network over satellite because a managed service does not meet your specific requirements or because of stringent Sovereign data control or Regulatory compliance needs
“Through ELEVATE and as a long-term partner of Viasat, we aim to reach a broader ecosystem of IIoT partners and clients. We are engaged with several service integrators globally to enable private IIoT networks through cost-effective and innovative access to spectrum, including a recent opportunity in southeast Asia."
