Arctic Broadband on the Way as Viasat Confirms Successful Launch

With the increasing demand for connectivity in the Artic from governments, commercial mobility customers and scientists, a successful launch with two satellites carry payloads that Viasat aims to use to bring broadband connectivity to the Artic. Once the satellites are in service (expected mid calendar year 2025), Viasat will expand its global coverage, bringing high-speed internet to the Artic region.

Combining satellite technology with humanitarian aid for Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF)

 

It happens far too often...a natural disaster leaving residents cut off from loved ones and first responders due to communication structures being destroyed or heavily damaged. After Otis, the costliest cyclone to ever hit Mexico, Viasat-sponsored Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) was one of the first NGOs on the ground, using Viasat’s IsatPhone2 handheld satellite phones to help reconnect 1,300 families in need. Also in 2023, TSF also utilized Viasat technology in response to the catastrophic earthquake that hit Türkiye, maintaining remote healthcare assistance for over 104,000 patients.
