Our ground network of Satellite Access Nodes (SANs) is strategically placed around the world to maximize the capacity and availability of our multi-orbit network.
Our widely distributed ground network includes hundreds of smaller gateways capable of delivering high-speed, high-capacity, redundant connectivity worldwide — with many of the processing functions moved to nearby data centers, which helps eliminate the space required for servers and the infrastructure needed to power and cool them, as well as backup generators and redundant fiber lines.
Along with our high-speed, global software-defined network (SDN) and use of Networks Function Virtualization (NFV), our ground network helps us rapidly scale to meet the demands of high capacity satellite systems and network services — and meet your changing connectivity needs.
