Does a dish need to be permanently installed on my business to get Viasat?

This is one of the most common questions we get from business owners interested in satellite connectivity, but who are concerned about mounting a dish in full view of customers — or drilling holes in their beloved storefronts.
The answer is no. While a dish is required for service, in many cases, a professional technician can install your Viasat dish without permanently attaching it to the building.
There are two ways to do this. First, there’s a pole mount, where the dish is mounted on a sturdy pole in the ground near the business. Second, there’s a non-penetrating mount, where a dish is placed on a flat roof and weighed down with ballast.
There are also many ways to attach a dish to the roof or walls of your business that are relatively unobtrusive. These include side mounts, brick mounts, and low-profile stub mounts. At about 30 by 28 inches, your dish doesn’t take up too much space.
In short, installing your dish should not be a major obstacle to connecting your business to fast, reliable internet. Your technician will work with you to choose the best location and mount type for your location.
