Reboot Your Viasat Modem

This article outlines the best way to reboot your equipment.

Follow these steps to reboot your modem:
  1. Power-down the device having trouble connecting to your internet. Note: If it is all devices skip this step.
  2. Unplug the router 
    • NOTE: If you have a WiFi Modem where the router and modem are one unit, you only have to worry about unplugging that device.
  3. Unplug the modem from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug in the modem. Wait until all LED lights on the modem are solid.
  5. Plug in the router. Wait until all LED lights on the modem are solid.
  6. Power up your device.

Troubleshooting

Alternatively, if you’re unable to unplug your equipment, you can reboot your Viasat Modem/Gateway using the My Viasat App. Rebooting through the app won’t reboot your router or devices. 

  1. Log to the My Viasat App
  2. Tap Help
  3. Tap Reboot modem
  4. Confirm Reboot modem
