Viasat Fixed Wireless: How to Install your Unit
This user-guide will assist you in setting up your unit and activating your internet service.
Before Installation
- Your new unit must be installed and set up before your internet service is activated.

Basic Setup
Install the SIM card and connect the Ethernet cable
- The SIM card has been installed for you. Unscrew the Ethernet port housing at the bottom of the unit, pop out the weatherproofing seal, pull the Ethernet cable through the hole in the seal (keeping all pieces in the order pictured) and plug into the unit.
Find a window to mount your device (with the unit outside)
- For best performance, select an open location on a top floor, away from large electrical devices, like TVs and microwaves. The window should be near a power outlet and facing your nearest cell tower. Click HERE to find the nearest cell tower.
Connect cables on your device
- Connect one end of your Ethernet cable to your device and the other to the PoE adapter's PoE port. (The device will not work if connected to the LAN port.)
- Connect your power cord to the back of the PoE adapter and plug the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet.
Attach suction cups and test performance
- Attach suction cups to the back of the device and place the device on a window, pressing firmly on device to ensure it’s securely attached to window. To try another location carefully remove the device from the window. It may help to pull the corners of each suction cup up one at a time.
Access login page (Device must be powered on)
- Using your mobile device camera app, scan the QR code on the front of the PoE adapter. By scanning the QR code, your mobile device will automatically connect to the WIFI network for device management and mobile device browser will automatically access the management page of the current device.
NOTE: If the web page does not automatically pop up, connect your mobile device to the WiFi SSID printed on the front of the PoE adapter, open your default browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address bar.
Enter username and password
- The login screen will ask for your username and password, these are located on the sticker attached to the PoE adapter.
Select "Device Setup"
- Follow instructions to test performance and place the device in the best location. Your Wi-Fi username and password are located on the sticker attached to the PoE adapter.
Install the equipment in the best spot
- Once you've found your best-performing location fix the equipment in place. Clean the window with alcohol wipe and let dry. Use adhesive strips to secure device to the outside of the window for best performance. When installing outside, you will need to run the Ethernet cable under a window or door, keeping the PoE adapter inside.
Your TITAN5100 is now up and running. Rescan QR code whenever you need to come back to manage your device, test performance, and conduct basic troubleshooting.
