Viasat Fiber - Installation FAQs
The My Viasat order summary dashboard provides your order summary, install appointment and ability to reschedule your installation.
To access your Viasat Order Summary Dashboard:
- Register Your Account on My Viasat
- Login at My Viasat.
- You will need your account number to register
- Access the Dashboard:
- Once registered, your order summary dashboard will appear.
- View your order summary, install appointment, and reschedule your installation if needed.
- Appointment scheduling and Customer agreement

If you haven’t scheduled your installation, please log into My Viasat or call us at 855-463-9333.

If your address is already “Fiber Live” (meaning your home is ready for installation), you’ll also need to sign your Customer Agreement before your appointment. You can do this in My Viasat or through the customer agreement link sent to your order confirmation email.

Important: The Customer Agreement must be signed at least 24 hours prior to your installation appointment. If it isn’t signed, we will notify you to let you know the installation appointment has been cancelled.
Pre-installation Preparation

About 2–3 days before your scheduled installation, a contractor will visit your home to complete a pre‑installation site assessment. During this visit, they’ll review the outside of your property and take photos to help plan where the fiber line will be placed. This information is then shared with the installation crew ahead of your appointment.
NOTE: You do not need to be home for the pre‑installation. On installation day, the technician will review the photos and plan with you and ask you to sign the site survey before work begins.
- 24 hours prior to the appointment, you will receive an SMS to confirm the appointment.

- What communication can I expect prior to the installation appointment?
- The installation contractor will send you text message updates when the technician is on the way and again when they arrive at your home.
Installation Day Preparation
- Someone over the age of 18 must be on site the day of install.
- Potential fees:
- Exterior extension of a residence further than fifty (50) feet of the front corner of the home: Install = $75.
- Internal extension of the ONT within twenty (20) feet of the entry point; Install = $35.
- Missed Appointment Fee if not cancelled within 24 hours of installation appointment = up to $160
- Installation typically takes 2–4 hours, although we reserve a 4‑hour appointment window to ensure everything can be completed smoothly.
- During the planning process, the installation crew will review the best place for the fiber to enter your home, the route of the trench through your yard, and the location of any buried sprinklers or invisible pet fences to ensure everything is installed safely.
- Once the work has been reviewed and approved, the crew will begin the installation. After the ONT is set up, the technician will connect the fiber to your new modem and test the connection throughout your home to make sure everything is working properly.
- Once the installation is complete, you will be required to sign the receipt of your welcome packet along with the completed work.
- Viasat offers free professional standard installation for all fiber internet customers. The installation process includes:
- ONT (Optical Network Terminal) - required to provide fiber service
- Wall socket installation
- All standard ONT connections
- We will install a 10 Gigabit XGS-PON ONT (Optical Network Terminal). This is capable of providing:
- Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 technology for superior wireless performance
- Coverage up to 2,500 square feet with one unit
- If additional coverage is needed, we recommend setting up a 3rd Party Router, Wi-Fi Extender, or Mesh System.
The installation timeline is 5-7 business days. Your fiber provider will take care of building and installing all standard equipment needed for your service. A professional technician will manage the entire installation from start to finish.
