How to configure DHCP for Mac OS X
The following article explains how to configure Mac OS X DHCP settings to automatically obtain an IP address when connected to the Viasat network.
Steps to configure DHCP for Mac OS X
- From the Apple menu, select System Preferences
- In the System Preferences window, select the Network icon
- Select the Show dropdown menu and select Built-in Ethernet
- Select the Configure IPv4 dropdown menu and select Using DHCP
- Select Apply Now. At this point, your computer should obtain an IP Address and all the other settings from the ViaSat DHCP server. You should be able to surf the web, send and receive e-mails, etc. If you are still unable to connect to the internet, proceed to step 6
- Select the PPPoE tab
- Verify that Connect using PPPoE is unchecked
- Select the AppleTalk tab
- Verify that Make AppleTalk Active is unchecked
- Select the Proxies tab
- Verify that all proxies are unchecked and all proxy server fields are empty
- Select the Ethernet tab
- Verify that the Configure dropdown is set to Automatically
- Select Apply Now
