Carlsbad, Calif. – ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ:VSAT) has expanded the coverage of its Yonder® high-speed internet service over Brazil and the surrounding region. The StarOne C1 satellite is providing the bandwidth and a ViaSat regional teleport has been installed and commissioned in Rio de Janeiro. The new region of the network is operational for maritime and aviation customers of the Yonder network.
United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UAL) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Continental Airlines has executed a letter of intent with inflight entertainment provider LiveTV to offer inflight Wi-Fi via Ka-band beginning next year. Now the world's largest airline following the merger, the company will use the ViaSat Ka-band in-flight Internet access system over ViaSat-1, which will be the world's highest-capacity satellite upon its launch later in 2011.

These contracts include terrestrial internet connectivity, 24/7 support for network operations, and additional production vehicular transceivers. The next generation BFT-2 systems are designed to enable much faster situational awareness updates and higher transmission speeds.

Carlsbad, Calif. – ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) has rescheduled the launch of its high-capacity satellite ViaSat-1 with International Launch Services (ILS) to summer 2011. The delay provides additional time for repair and testing after the satellite was damaged while being moved during the testing process. All costs related to the repair and re-testing of the satellite are being assumed by the manufacturer of ViaSat-1, Space Systems/Loral, a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications Inc.

(Nasdaq: VSAT) have successfully demonstrated the ability to integrate commercial mobile SATCOM networks with JTRS networks. This integration allows the commander to interconnect dispersed field forces using JTRS radios and then backhaul communications to command centers or any other locations, including mobile locations, throughout the globe.

The tests were conducted during live missions on a U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) C-130 aircraft operating in Afghanistan using an upgraded ViaSat ArcLight® satellite system.
