2003-12-03 - Tactical Data Links

Carlsbad, CA - ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq:VSAT) has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $30 million for Multifunctional Information Distribution System terminals from the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF). The order is for approximately 120 LVT(1) Low Volume Terminals for the RNLAF fleet of F-16 aircraft. ViaSat was awarded this competitively bid contract through a direct commercial order. This follows a previous competitive procurement by the RNLAF for the purchase of three LVT(1) terminals from ViaSat for their lead-the-fleet program. The Lead-the-fleet terminals were delivered to the RNLAF earlier this year. MIDS LVT provides secure, high capacity, jam resistant, digital data and voice communications capability for platforms deployed by the US Navy, US Air Force, US Army, and several coalition countries.
