ViaSat Named Top VSAT Vendor in India

Duluth, GA - ViaSat was named the Top VSAT Vendor in India by Voice & Data magazine in its annual "V&D 100" issue profiling the top telecommunications companies in the country. The rankings are based on annual revenue from VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) sales in India, with ViaSat's total at US$ 28 million ($123 Rs Crore). HCL Comnet, Airports Authority of India, Bharat Electronics Limited for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), and Tata Net all placed significant new satellite communication system orders with ViaSat.
The article states, "FY 2004-05 was a great year for ViaSat. Among all the vendors, its performance was best. It registered the highest (157 percent) growth in sales and was the leader among VSAT vendors in value terms. The vendor did good business across all segments this year." Voice & Data also predicts in the issue that VSAT terminal shipments in India will grow industry-wide by another 30 to 50 percent in the coming year.
