United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UAL) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Continental Airlines has executed a letter of intent with inflight entertainment provider LiveTV to offer inflight Wi-Fi via Ka-band beginning next year. Now the world's largest airline following the merger, the company will use the ViaSat Ka-band in-flight Internet access system over ViaSat-1, which will be the world's highest-capacity satellite upon its launch later in 2011.
