Carlsbad, CA - ViaSat has been awarded another add-on order valued at nearly $5.7 million for Multifunctional Information Distribution System terminals from The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), San Diego. The order adds to the $60 million delivery order announced on June 13 and the $5.2 million add-on order announced September 21. This order brings the total to more than $70 million for the largest MIDS order received by ViaSat as part of the MIDS Lot procurements.

The add-on order includes LVT(1) airborne terminals, LVT(2) ground-based Low Volume Terminals and spares. The MIDS LVT provides secure, high capacity, jam resistant, digital data and voice communication for U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Army platforms. ViaSat is one of two U.S. government-qualified manufacturers of Link-16 MIDS terminals, part of a tactical radio system that collects data from many sources and displays an electronic overview of the battlefield. ViaSat recently delivered its 500th MIDS terminal to SPAWAR under the program.
