The IDIQ contract provides access to the full range of ViaSat offerings including LinkStar® and LinkWay® VSAT terminals and services, UHF satcom equipment, network encryption equipment, and Ku-band “comm on the move” terminals and services. In addition, the contract provides satellite bandwidth on a global basis, mobile satcom terminals and services from multiple systems, systems engineering support for defining and planning systems for potential government requirements including secure networks, and Ka-band services.

“This contract is an opportunity to better serve our customers by providing a total spectrum of cost-effective, commercial satellite communication systems to all federal agencies,” said Mark Schwene, director of strategic initiatives for ViaSat Government Satcom Systems. “We intend to use this contract to make our emerging products and services available as soon as they enter the commercial market, keeping our government customers on the leading edge.”

One innovative feature that GSA/FTS has included in the contract is the ability to add new commercial satcom products and services as they enter the market.
