Duluth, GA ? ViaSat Inc. will supply its LinkStar? broadband satellite networking system to COC Education Group to expand the availability of enterprise broadband distance learning networking in Brazil. Deliveries of the hub and first order of network terminals are scheduled for this month.

The new COC Education Group?s network is aimed at the broadband distance learning market for broadband IP connections and Internet access. The hub will be located at the company?s Ribeirao Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil headquarters with coverage across Brazil.

ViaSat recently announced the new LinkStarS2 system, that incorporates the DVB-S2 waveform offering up to 30% greater bandwidth efficiency ? substantially reducing network operating costs. ViaSat?s popular mesh system, LinkWay, also now includes the S2 technology, and LinkWayS2 remote terminals integrate into the S2-capable LinkStar hub systems ? enabling powerful and flexible hybrid star/mesh network architectures.

The LinkStar system can operate with proprietary configuration from ViaSat or according to the DVB-RCS international standard. The system is cost-effective for a full spectrum of applications, from low speed, quick-turnaround retail transactions such as point-of-sale and lottery networks to broadband multimedia applications such as Internet access, high-speed military or homeland security applications, enterprise networking, and distance learning.
