Operator turns up service on one of first DVB-S2 networks in the world
Duluth, GA � ViaSat customer Tuaropaki Communications Ltd. is upgrading its C-series LinkStar� hub to a full size hub that will give it the ability to expand its network from hundreds to thousands of customers in New Zealand. In addition, Tuaropaki now has one of the first interactive satellite communication systems compatible with the new DVB-S2 waveform in operation. Tuaropaki plans to use the new S2 system to increase the efficiency and affordability of its Inzonecorp satellite broadband Internet service, that delivers broadband to business and residential customers. The service provider also ordered another 1,000 LinkStar remote terminals, to accommodate its growing customer base.
Tuaropaki offers Internet access, voice over IP, video distribution, disaster recovery and virtual private networks through the LinkStarS2 network, which replaced another, older VSAT technology. The new network is designed to download data at speeds up to 3 Megabits/second and upload from remotes at up to 1 Mbps.
