Embedded INFOSEC Systems

Embedded INFOSEC Systems

ViaSat is developing or supporting development of INFOSEC for several other programs including the Joint Tactical Radio System, the Family of Advanced Beyond-line-of-sight Terminals (FAB-T), and the Common Data Link System (CDLS).

Form Factor:
Embeddable Encryption

Our roots go back to UHF Satcom DAMA modem development, and later MIDS terminal development. The development and certification of the embedded cryptos in these products many years ago helped us begin to develop information assurance capabilities. Here are some other programs we're working on:

JTRS
JTRS (Joint Tactical Radio System) is an effort to develop a completely programmable software radio. We are a subcontractor to Boeing for JTRS Cluster 1, providing system security for the Wideband Network Waveform, the new waveform in JTRS. Among other things, ViaSat is bringing HAIPE® compliance into JTRS with support for the JTRS SCA.

AEHF
Under multiple subcontracts to Boeing and Harris, we are developing the encryption module for the Advanced EHF terminals. These are SCA compliant, HAIPE compliant terminals with a variety of data and networking interfaces. The FAB-T is a multi-channel INFOSEC system that uses both the ACTS chipset and ViaSat PSIAM to provide encryption and key management support for the terminal. This terminal has very aggressive environmental design requirements.

Navy CDLS
ViaSat is subcontractor to Cubic to provide the networking, encryption, and antenna for the CDL Navy program. The crypto embeds second party crypto chips into the PSIAM design to provide a cost effective CDL system for the Navy.
