BattleStream Video Edge » Video Collaboration Software for Mobile Warfighters

BattleStream Video™ Edge software has an intuitive dashboard that enables warfighters to instant-message; access ISR video from the Global Information Grid (GIG), locally-deployed UAVs or other sensors; “grab & share” video snapshots; and whiteboard a strategy. With the software’s peer-to-peer architecture the mobile warfighter can be fully selfsufficient. Simply install the software, and then hook it up to almost any communication device for instant collaboration.

Edge software has the unique ability to adapt source video to match the transmission channel, so imagery is received regardless of your platform’s limitations. Edge is compatible with most standard USB and IP video sources, and operates over Line-of-Sight (LOS) and Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) IP systems, ranging from high-speed Satcom broadband platforms to low-bandwidth tactical radios.

BattleStream Video Gateway » Video Transcoding Hardware for Existing Infrastructures

For hands-off operation at the FOB, we’ve created the BattleStream Video™ Gateway hardware that can do the “heavy lifting” of transcoding high rate ISR video for transmission over multiple communication channels. While the Edge software's peer-to-peer technology is specifically designed to work independently of a server, Gateway hardware can be added to the FOB’s infrastructure to reduce the processing load placed on existing computers. It fits into a standard 19” rack, acting as the dissemination counterpart for video-capture data links.

At the heart of the technology is the BattleStream Video Core engine. BattleStream Video Core is a ViaSat technology that enables real-time, optimized delivery of ISR video streams over single or multi-hop IP communication systems with variable link qualities, bandwidth capacities, and network congestion.

The BattleStream Video Core engine is a scalable, low-cost enabler for existing systems and platforms with ISR requirements, and is available as a software library for integration or embedment into hardware platforms or custom software applications.
