Sustainability at ViaSat

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices. Three ViaSat facilities have achieved LEED Gold Certification. The "LEED" Certification Mark" is a registered trademark owned by the USGBC and is used by permission. Our new operations and manufacturing building is a renovated building that became the first LEED Certified building in Carlsbad, California. Our latest engineering building then became the second Carlsbad LEED Gold Certified building. And finally, our new WildBlue facility in Englewood, Colorado has also achieved a LEED Gold Certification.

LEED is a third party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings. The certification promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health:

  • Sustainable site development

  • Water savings

  • Energy efficiency

  • Materials selection

  • Indoor environmental quality

The “LEED Certification Mark” is a registered trademark owned by the USGBC and is used by permission.
